Drifting Off – 16" x 20" – Acrylic and mixed media abstract painting on canvas

This piece feels quieter and more sparse than the others in the series—soft rust and cream dominate, with a single loose black scribble anchoring the middle and cooler blue-gray marks drifting through the top corner. There's a lot of open canvas here, more breathing room than the other pieces in this set.

The color story pulls from the same Northern Flicker reference as the rest of the series, but here it's softened down, warm rust and mustard instead of the bolder terracotta elsewhere. Drifting Off felt like the right name since the piece has this hazy, half-focused quality to it, like it's caught mid-thought.
