Spatial Awareness 24" x 24" – Acrylic and mixed media abstract painting on canvas

This piece has a stained base like many others I was making at the time, but I played with it a bit differently here. The inner section is a lighter wash, while the border is just another layer of the same stain color—subtle, but intentional. I also added a pencil-drawn frame to contain the center, which is filled with larger, bolder marks than I usually make.

I called it Spatial Awareness as a bit of a play on words. It’s partly about how people sometimes miss what’s happening around them, but it’s also about learning to take up space—thoughtfully and with presence.

Edges are painted, and it’s wired and ready to hang.
