Gray Area 30" x 35" – Acrylic and mixed media abstract painting on canvas

This one moves in a big, sweeping arc—deep navy and black ink splatter cutting across a soft field of blush and sage. The scale gave me room to let the gesture really stretch, so the marks feel less contained than in some of my smaller work, more like they're circling the canvas than sitting still on it.

The palette came from a photo of a blue heron I found on Pinterest, and it pulled me toward all these cool, quiet blush-and-sage tones with pops of teal and ink black. There's something a little moody and unresolved about it, like the piece hasn't quite decided what it's about yet, which is really where the name came from.
