SERIES | Scrappy coveralls - 12.5" x 16.5"- Acrylic and mixed media on canvas

Scrappy coveralls are a part of a larger series called Coveralls. Each piece in the series is created from either a repurposed painting or scrap piece of drop-cloth that I used while painting.

In an attempt to avoid being wasteful because let's face it, making art can result in a lot of waste - I started creating coverall paintings. I reuse canvas scraps or I'll paint over a painting that I have "retired". I take the "retired" painting and I wreck it. I freely splash paint and make marks til every inch of the canvas is covered in vibrant color. Once I like the result I begin to layer white shapes over the top of that creating some sense of control while letting the chaos below poke through the spaces between the shapes. 

Scrappy coveralls weren't recycled paintings but repurposed drop-cloth from the work table I paint on.
