This one brings me back to my smaller gestures—layered marks and painted blocks sitting on top of stained mauve washes. I was still experimenting with building depth through layered staining, but this piece leans more into the delicate, intentional details that feel true to my current style.

The palette ties into a theme I kept returning to during this period: soft, traditionally feminine colors, especially mauve. I called it Retrace because it’s about the idea that we repeat patterns—not just out of habit, but maybe because there’s something we’re meant to learn. Healing, awareness, reflection… whatever it is, the repetition holds meaning.

Edges are painted, and it’s wired and ready to hang.
